Moving forward

Continuing work on a yet untitled piece. I believe I have resolved some design issues for now and am moving ever closer to locking in the design and constructing the quilt top.

Darkening the red in the border made a tremendous difference.

I added some additional symbolism and I am beginning to understand where this piece is going as i work through my ideas. Although my work is essentially conceptual I strive to be intuitive in execution. It's beginning to feel like it has a focus and direction which means it is time to put is aside for only a short while. Too many deadlines ahead.

Associated Artists of Pittsburgh is 100 this year.

Hi Penny,
I think the darker border and the hands in the upper corners work well. Something about the size of the hands and more contrast seems to pull it together.
Have any workshops planned this year?

Thanks for your comments I feel the same way about the hands nice to hear I am on track.

I'm taking a workshop at Pro-Chem with Jan Myers Newbury end of May. Other than that, I think I'll focus on working hard and using what I've learned over the many years and workshops. The Crow workshop was a good kick in the butt for me, which I needed after being away for so long. Timing is everything!

Hi Sue,

Thanks so much for posting. I'm finally beginning to get the juices flowing after my dad died. All of a sudden I am overflowing with ideas. As I recall you live in the mid-atlantic region aka snow central , we've been fortunate lots to shovel but no hardship. I love it and find it inspiring to work.

Hope you are well.

HI Jeanne,

Jan is of course one of our most prestigious Fiberart Guild members. And as much as I do for the guild these days I still haven't properly met her. But I do know her work, don't we all, which is drop dead gorgeous and everyone raves about her teaching. I know you will enjoy the workshop.

Welcome back!
